A Queensland service supporting boards of not-for-profit organisations

BoardConnect is a Queensland service dedicated to supporting arts boards and boards of not-for-profit organisations. An initiative of Brisbane consultancy firm, Positive Solutions, BoardConnect was developed in response to a perception that boards of not-for-profit organisations have a need for ongoing advice, support and skill-development. BoardConnect seeks to address the governance and board development issues that remain significant and challenging for many not-for-profit organisations.

Supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland, BoardConnect support the work of not-for-profit organisations in developing an understanding of the role of boards and in raising standards of governance. Initially focused on the needs of arts and cultural organisations, BoardConnect’s services extend into the broader not-for-profit sector.

Through the provision of constantly updated resources on their website and the presentation of workshops, briefings, webinars and discussions, BoardConnect aims to provide not-for-profit board members with a sustained, continuous and confidential source of advice. BoardConnect undertake action research with industry partners regarding the best methods of achieving stronger governance in the not-for-profit sector.
