Caloundra Music Festival

Three-day community and music festival

The Caloundra Music Festival was first held in 2007 and is centred around the Kings Beach Park precinct, Caloundra.

The Caloundra Music Festival is an annual weekend event. This not-for-profit community event endeavours to showcase Australian talent whilst also featuring international artists. Wide assortments of music genres spaning from popular music acts through to cultural interpretations are exhibited over the course of the festival. A battle-of-the-bands promotion is run in the lead up to the event to encourage local talent, with the winners receiving the last spot on stage at the Caloundra Music Festival.

The event celebrates music and is dedicated to the environment, culture and community pride in the Caloundra area. The festival includes community activities such as a street parade, beachside carnival, markets and food stalls; also featuring a number of roving performers and buskers. To further encourage new acts to take part in the event, the festival runs interactive sessions and workshops.

The festival will be held on the 7-9 of October in 2011, with artists including Empire of the Sun, Missy Higgins, Eskimo Joe, Little Red, Icehouse, Bluejuice, The Jezabels and many more. Previous artists to play at the festival include: Jet, Powderfinger, Paul Kelly, Augie March, Hoodoo Gurus, Josh Pyke, Pete Murray and many others.
