Spanish Film Festival

Annual festival presenting Spanish and Latin American contemporary cinema

As the third most widely spoken language in more than 21 countries, the Spanish language is a worldwide influence and the Spanish film industry continues to thrive.

Presented and produced with the Ministries of Culture and Foreign Affairs in Spain and many local companies, the festival offers a wide variety of films with special guests and Q&A events. The festival now showcases over 37 unique films and is held in six capital cities, including Perth since 2011.

The Spanish Film Festival is hosted by Palace Centro Cinema on James St and runs for approximately ten days around May.

History:

In its 15th year in 2012, the Spanish Film Festival showcases a wide variety of film genres hailing from countries including Argentina, Chile, Mexico and Venezuala.
