Open Doors Youth Service
Queer focused community youth service
Open Doors Youth Service provides support to young people who identify as Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender (GLBT). The service offers information to young people about sexuality and gender identity, the information is provided in consultations or free queer focused magazines.
The programs Open Doors provide are designed for specific age groups, they including mentoring programs, events for young GLBT in Southeast Queensland and the Queeriosity Youth Festival.
Open Doors services include the access to food, psychologists, internet, outreach workers and training and education with service providers.
History:Open Doors were established in 2001, the idea was produced by the need for a support service for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (GLBT), sexually and diverse young people in Southeast Queensland.
