Peak Body for Multicultural Arts in Queensland
Brisbane Multicultural Arts Centre (BEMAC) is the lead agency in Queensland for the development, programming, presentation and promotion of multicultural arts and artists. BEMAC is unique in this area of service delivery in the Queensland arts Landscape. BEMAC delivers an annual program of performances, targeted workshops, professional development opportunities and community outreach programs for artists from specific and more general diverse cultural backgrounds, world music genre musicians and migrant and refugee communities. BEMAC also represent Queensland artists nationally via Kultour the national body.
History:BEMAC has a 24 year history of identifying, developing, presenting and promoting artists from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, from emerging through to international professional musicians; from across Brisbane, Queensland, nationally and internationally.
