A peer-reviewed journal of media and culture

M/C Journal is a peer-reviewed academic journal which promotes public intellectualism. The journal is designed to service the point of crossover between the popular and the academic, resonating with wider political and cultural communities through innovative and intellectual dialogue between media and culture.

M/C Journal publishes six issues per year. Every issue revolves around a central theme, left open to interpretation of each author. Each issue has one 4000 word feature article, often written by an invited academic in the field of interest. The feature article is supplemented by a series of shorter, 3000 word articles which further explore this theme.

M/C Journal is a double-blind peer reviewed scholarly journal, and each issue is edited by a different team of guest editors. It is a fully open-access journal, archived by the Australian Government’s Pandora Archive and listed in the Directory of Open Access Journals.

M/C Journal was established in July 1998 under the name M/C: A Journal of Media and Culture, and is supported by the Queensland University of Technology’s Creative Industries Faculty, along with affiliates from other universities across Australia.
