Brisbane Entertainment Centre
A large venue which hosts functions, major events and concerts
The Brisbane Entertainment Centre (BEC), located on Brisbane’s north side is a large scale events centre available for public hire. The venue is most widely known as a host for major musical events. International and local music artists have performed at the BEC. The different music genres include pop, rap, r&b, punk, alternative and rock.
BEC is also used for a number of family events such as children’s music concerts, theatrical performances and sporting events such as netball, motor cross and monster trucks.
The main arena provides a seating capacity between 500 and 13,500. The venue also holds eight smaller rooms where meetings, conferences and other functions may be held, offering capacity ranging from 20-450 guests. The BEC also offers in house catering and staff for these functions. The audiovisual and technical services provided include technical and production assistance.
BEC is located half an hour north of Brisbane city and is accessible via public transport which includes train and bus services with additional services running during major events.
History:BEC was built in 1986 by the Brisbane City Council, and is operated by Ogden IFC Brisbane Proprietary Limited.
