QUT's campus newspaper
Inside QUT (IQ) is produced by Queensland University of Technology’s (QUT) Marketing and Communication Department approximately 10 times a year or once a month during the primary teaching periods of February to November. Distribution of this full-colour, compact newspaper covers QUT’s campuses at Garden’s Point in the city, Kelvin Grove and Caboolture. Students and staff collect IQ from strategically located boxes on all campuses. The newspaper is also mailed to over 1,200 school guidance officers, international agents and national and state media organisations.
The content covers new appointments, university successes, achievements of staff, current students and alumni, research projects, campus culture and corporate events. News content is produced by professional journalists, with many of the stories reaching mass media.
History:QUT is an Australian university with an applied emphasis in courses and research. The University traces its foundations back to 1849 however official status as a University was not granted until 1989. Global connections foster collaborative research and cultural diversity amongst staff and students with 14 percent of QUT’s 40, 000 students hailing from overseas and many local students studying at QUT’s partner institutions around the world.
