Brisbane 48 Hour Film Project
Filmmakers have 48 hours to make a short film
The 48 Hour Film Project (48HFP) is a sleepless weekend in which teams of filmmakers have 48 hours to make a short film.
All films must contain the ‘Special Ingredients’ and conform to the team’s randomly assigned genre – discovered just moments before the 48 hour countdown begins. With no age or budget limit, teams are welcome from students to industry professionals and all films are guaranteed a screening at a genuine cinema.
The 48HFP’s mission is to cultivate filmmaking and promote filmmakers. The tight 48 hour deadline puts the focus squarely on the filmmakers, emphasising creativity and teamwork skills. The project launches in October at the Griffith University Film School in South Bank.
The 48HFP is the only competition of its kind in the world. The winning team from the Brisbane leg will go up against the world’s best for the title of ‘Best 48 Hour Film of 2011’. For the winning team, it is a chance to attend a major festival competition, form international networks and have your film screened to a world-wide audience.
