Aboriginal book publisher and distributor
Keeaira’s practice incorporates both traditional and contemporary work. Their publications primarily include Aboriginal history books and art catalogues with a focus on publications which have strong photographic content.
Keeaira Press’ print publications include; poetry, elder narratives, contemporary art, short stories, calendars, magazines, essays and other fiction and non-fiction works. Publications from other publishers around Australia and overseas are also included within Keeaira Press’ distribution range.
Recently, Keeaira Press released their latest book, Health Quality in Indigenous Communities with the collaboration of Queensland Aboriginal and Islander Health Council. Their main customers are educational institutions, including libraries, schools and universities as well as community organisations and bookshops.
History:Keeaira Press is a small publishing house established by Michael Aird in 1996. The primary interest is in recording aspects of Aboriginal history and culture.
