Located at New Farm on the banks of the Brisbane River, the Brisbane Powerhouse has become a Brisbane and Queensland landmark. It has also been established as a hub for creative performance including theatre, music, comedy, film, visual arts and festivals.
Brisbane Powerhouse presents small to large scale contemporary music and arts events. It is comprised of many performance spaces including the Powerhouse Theatre, Visy Theatre and the Turbine Platform.
History:Funded by Brisbane City Council, the Brisbane Powerhouse opened as an arts centre in 2000 after 30 years as a derelict power station. It was refurbished and expanded in early 2007.
