Parklife
Annual electronic/indie music festival celebrating the beginning of summer
Parklife is a national festival that showcases a wide variety of music including electro, hip-hop, indie, house and many more. The festival marks the first of the summer festival season around Australia, taking place from late September to early October. Situated in Brisbane’s City Botanic Gardens, the green surroundings contribute to the festivals start-of-summer vibe.
Since it was established in 2005, Parklife has seen its fair share of DJs and live acts. Previous headliners include Missy Eliot, Groove Armada, Kele, A-Trak, Cut Copy, Empire of the Sun, The Rapture, La Roux, MSTRKRFT, Kaskade and Art vs. Science.
This year’s Parklife takes place on 1 October 2011 at Brisbane’s Riverstage and Botanic Gardens. Artists performing in 2011 include Duck Sauce, Nero, Simian Mobile Disco, Naked and Famous, Wolfgang Gartner and many more.
