Australian Mobile Telecommunications Association

Peak industry body representing and promoting Australia's telecommunications industry.

The Australian Mobile Telecommunications Association (AMTA) is an industry-formed regulatory and policy body representing and advising industry groups within the Australian telecommunications industry. These groups include Mobile Carriage Service Providers, retail outlets, equipment suppliers to the industry, and handset manufacturers. It is one of Australia’s peak industry bodies representing the telecommunications industry in Australia. AMTA’s broad range of issues include privacy, content, marketing practices, credit practices, security, social implications, consumer-related issues, and health and safety.

The AMTA acts to represent their industry constituents to governments and regulatory bodies to broker communication, cooperation and understanding between the telecommunications industry, governments, regulatory bodies, and the Australian consumer public. This process provides insight for policy makers and regulators and also helps promote growth for the industry.
