Seven, commonly referred to as Channel Seven, is one of Australia’s leading free-to-air commercial television stations and is acknowledged as one of Australia’s leading media and communications companies. Commencing transmission in November 1956, Seven have built and maintained a solid reputation based on their commitment to deliver programming relevant to Australians.
Some of Seven’s most recognized shows include breakfast television such as ‘Sunrise’ , Australian-produced dramas, sports and current affairs. Packed to the Rafters, Dancing with the Stars, Today Tonight and Seven News were consistently high rating programs for Seven in 2011. Programs produced in Brisbane and broadcast in Queensland include The Great South East, Queensland Weekender, Creek to Coast, and the Queensland edition of Seven News. Seven operates a joint venture with Yahoo! Australia and New Zealand, Yahoo!7, which combines Yahoo’s search and communications capabilities with Seven’s media and entertainment content and marketing capabilities.
