Metropolitan South Institute of TAFEA government owned institute, focusing on higher education vocational programs Metropolitan South Institute of TAFE (MSIT) is one of the largest Queensland TAFE institutes offering a wide range of higher education vocational programs. MIST provides over 400 programs developed in close consultation with industry in a range of flexible delivery methods. Metropolitan South provides training in a range of areas including fashion, nursing, training and assessment, small business and aged care. Industry relevant, nationally accredited practical training is provided by highly skilled teachers with recent industry experience and networks. With an emphasis on hands-on training and high quality practical experience, MIST provides creative TAFE solutions for individuals, businesses and secondary school students. MIST regularly reviews their courses to guarantee the students are given the best level of training. MIST has ten campuses. These campuses are located throughout Brisbane and surrounding regions. MIST has four main campuses located in Alexandra Hills, Loganlea, Mt Gravatt and Yeronga. The Mt Gravatt campus is home to the newly refurbished Creative Industries Precinct offering a number of courses in areas such as multimedia, music, photography, graphic design, digital animation and visual arts. MIST is also one of Australia’s top fashion training institutes named Outstanding Institute of the Year at the 2006 Fashion Enterprise Awards and winner of the 2007 Queensland Government’s International Education and Training Industry Showcase. History:Metropolitan South Institute of TAFE was formed in July 2006 from the amalgamation of the non-trade elements of the former Moreton, Yeronga and Logan Institutes of TAFE. Each year over 400 courses are offered to approximately 50 000 students.
