The Creative Industries Faculty within the Queensland University of Technology

Read the interview with Dr Jason Sternberg, Lecturer, Media and Communication

The Creative Industries Faculty delivers courses and research opportunities with a focus on the elements common to all creative activities – design, performance, production and writing. The Faculty has positioned itself as a leader in the development of Creative Industries and as a networked hub of creative enterprise within Queensland, Australia and the world.

At the undergraduate level, the unique Bachelor of Creative Industries degree allows students the flexibility to study more than one creative area. Postgraduate coursework programs allow professionals the opportunity to enhance career prospects.

Research at the Creative Industries Faculty is enhanced through QUT’s association with collocated research centres and institutes, including the first ARC Centre of Excellence to be funded outside of the science and technology fields.

History:

The Creative Industries Faculty was established in 2001 and opened in 2004. The faculty provides opportunities for students, researchers, designers and educators to collaborate in state of the art production, performance and exhibition spaces. The precinct is part of the Kelvin Grove Urban Village, an initiative which integrates living, learning and business facilities.
