ARC Centre for Excellence for Creative Industries and Innovation (CCI)
CCI is an ARC-funded research centre based at QUT
CCI has a broad cross-disciplinary commitment through linking research in creative innovation and digital media with law, education, business and IT, and by linking creative practitioners, business leaders, policy-makers and scholars.
At present, CCI is leading investigations into the legal, regulatory and policy issues raised by new communications and consumer cultures like online games, blogs, iPods, and social networking sites like Facebook, as well as undertaking comprehensive mapping projects of the employment and business characteristics of Australia’s creative workforce. CCI promotes the importance of creativity and the creative industries to Australia’s innovation economy and society. CCI is also with partner nodes at Swinburne, RMIT, Deakin, UNSW and ECU.
History:CCI was established in 2005 with core funding from the Australian Research Council.
