Valley Fiesta
A cultural festival featuring music, fashion and food
The Valley Fiesta is a three-day celebration of the unique cultural scene in the Fortitude Valley and Brisbane. Presented by the Brisbane City Council, Nova FM and Time Off, it is predominantly a live music festival with local and national headlining acts. It has expanded over recent years to include street theatre, performing arts, fashion parades, multimedia, ballroom dancing and fitness displays, alongside multicultural and family performances. Currently, Valley Fiesta is managed by the production house Strut & Fret.
Valley Fiesta brings a powerhouse of local, national and international music of all genres to the streets of Brisbane. It transforms the face of the Valley with films, exhibitions, fashion, performance and live music taking over the shopfronts of Ann Street and Wickham Street. In 2011, there were three outdoor street stages to keep the iconic party going. Headliners included Hungry Kids of Hungary, Sampology, Nina Las Vegas and New Navy. In 2010, headliners were The John Steel Singers, Yacht Club DJs, Hermitude & The Last Dinosaurs.
General festivities are located in and around Fortitude Valley’s entertainment precinct including the Brunswick Street and China Town malls. All performances and entertainment in this precinct are all ages and free of charge. Other events take place in conjunction with the Valley Fiesta in local fashion stores, art galleries, cafes, nightclubs, and restaurants.
