The Public Relations Institute of Australia (PRIA) represents public relations and communication professionals in Australia. The PRIA seeks to establish the highest standards of practice and integrity for the vibrant and growing PR and communications industry.
The PRIA is the peak body dedicated to representing the interests of public relations professionals in Australia. The PRIA aims to raise the profile of public relations professionals through support services designed to educate, develop skills and increase knowledge and experience. It offers members accreditation, education, enhanced career options and the ability of providing ever-improving standards to the sectors they serve.
History:Established in 1949, the PRIA is a storehouse of skills, knowledge and experience that is dedicated to passing these qualities onto its members for the betterment of the industry. In order to qualify to become a member one requires at least five years of full time industry experience and must obtain a tertiary education recognised by the PRIA. It has branches in every state of Australia and currently supports over 700 members in Queensland alone.
