Village Roadshow Studios
Internationally recognised location for film production
The Village Roadshow Studios is among the largest film studios in the southern hemisphere. Situated on thirteen acres next to Warner Bros Movie World, the studio facilities encompass eight sound stages, three water tanks and ten production offices, as well as offering screening and editing rooms, makeup and wardrobe rooms, model-making and construction workshops, equipment and other services provided by eleven on-site tenants. Recent projects completed at Village Roadshow Studios include TV Series ‘Terranova’, James Cameron feature film ‘Sanctum’, Narnia – Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Fools Gold, Nims Island, The Ruins, Starter Wife, Sea Patrol Series 1,2 and 3, The Strip, H2o Series 1,2 and 3.
Previous clients include ABC Productions, HBO, Dreamworks Productions, Fox Television and Walt Disney Television. Walden Media and Jonathan Shiff Productions.
History:The Warner Roadshow Studios were originally owned by Dino De Laurentis and the company built four sound stages in 1986/87. The company was then bought out by Village Roadshow in 1988/89 and Village Roadshow/Warner Bros became joint owners of the studios. In June 1991, Movie World Theme Park opened. The studios have continued to expand with sound stages seven and eight being constructed in 2002. Village Roadshow bought out Warner Bros’ share of the company in July 2007 and it is now entirely owned by the Australian company Village Roadshow.
