96five Family Radio is a Brisbane Christian community radio station

96five is a community radio station (with live online streaming) targeted towards families, guaranteeing family friendly radio. 96five broadcasts from within Brisbane, reaching audiences from the Sunshine Coast to the Gold Coast, with the vision “to be Brisbane’s preferred radio station for families”. The station plays a mix of contemporary Christian music and the latest mainstream entertainment, promising inoffensive listening day and night. Content consists of parenting programs, family tips and advice, positive music and information on family friendly events within Brisbane. Christian and community values are promoted through both its music choices and programs, and are particularly evident in 96five’s talk-back shows and promotion of 24hour counseling services.

96five is continually reaching out to the community through various programs and involvement offering, volunteer opportunities within the radio station varying from presenters to their Street Machine Team. In 2011 96five featured the topic HyperReality in partnership with Youth for Christ (YFC) and their AusLife Program and helped with the 2011 QLD floods with the Foodbank Appeal.

96five Family Radio (96five) has been on air since its launch in 1974 and began a full broadcast in 1997, receiving its current community radio license for Brisbane in 2001. 96five currently broadcast in a shared facility with Cornerstone Christian Church, Alderly in Brisbane.
