A free weekly community newspaper
City South News has a readership of 24,000 and a circulation of 29,951. City South News is a local newspaper which boasts a distinct demographic mix. The industry and commerce-based areas of Rocklea and Archerfield are a targeted audience, as well as the more commercial northern regions of West End and the Southbank Parklands.
City South News is distributed in the suburbs of Archerfield, South Brisbane, West End, Highgate Hill, Dutton Park, Woolloongabba, Fairfield, Annerley, Yeronga, Yeerongpilly, Moorooka, Tarragindi and Rocklea. These areas possess a mixture of older residents in the more established suburbs as well as an increase in younger residents who are capitalising on the trend towards medium density housing.
City South News focuses on community content and aims to cater for a diverse group of people. Regular features include: hair; fashion and beauty; health and well-being; real estate; entertainment; motoring; home and garden; a TV guide; and social events.
History:City South News was launched in 2005 after replacing the Southern News newspaper, which was first published in February 1992. As of 2008, City South News is published under the new parent company name of News Community Media which is a sub-section of the News Limited community newspaper group.
