Screen Queensland is the state advisory and funding body for television and film production and distribution. The organisation is responsible for the Brisbane International Film Festival and associated events, such as Cine Sparks.

Screen Queensland aims to increase innovation and sustainability of television and film production in Queensland. This is done through programs that fund and support the development of high-quality, dynamic and vibrant film and television produce. The Government agency provides advocacy for screen culture in Queensland, sponsorship and training schemes for emerging film and television producers, while also enhancing technical and business skills for both filmmakers and the general public.

Screen Queensland also shapes industry policy, assists in furthering the development of infrastructure in the industries to better service production, and aims to attract international production in Queensland.

History:

Screen Queensland, formerly the Pacific Film and Television Commission, was established in 1991 to provide support and strategic leadership for screen culture in Queensland.
