Paramount Pictures distributes films to the international marketplace.

Paramount Pictures, established in 1912, distributes motion pictures to the international marketplace outside North America. The Brisbane office opened in 1920 as United International Pictures, a partner company with Paramount Pictures. With a comprehensive network of branches and subsidiaries, joint ventures, licensees and agents, Paramount Pictures acquires products world-wide. Some of these include Dreamworks and independent producers for distribution in local, regional and/or international markets.

Each release has its own international marketing and sales strategy, which has been tailored and developed at headquarters in conjunction with either the parent studio or local producer. In recognition of each territory’s individuality, these strategies are then shaped and focused by Paramount’s local personnel to suit local tastes, cultures and market environments.

Under the supervision of the Sydney Head Office, the Brisbane team distributes and publishes films throughout Queensland. Its main task is to be the vital link between the local consumer, exhibitors and headquarters, who in turn provide the link to the product’s producers. Its duties include cinema distribution and allocation, advertising, media liaisons and word of mouth screenings.

Paramount Pictures works to distribute many cinema classics to theatre screens across the world. Films distributed by Paramount include Saturday Night Fever , The Ten Commandments , Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Titanic .
