Australian International Movie Convention
The annual convention highlighting upcoming films releasing in Australia
The Australian International Movie Convention is the annual event for the distribution, exhibition and allied trade film industry. Its focus is to discuss issues that affect the business of motion pictures in an era of changing technologies, as well as providing networking opportunities with international allies; operated through trade shows, conferences and guest speakers.
The convention includes screening sections for distributors and a conference to provide a forum for interaction between all areas of the film industry in Australia. Members range from national companies with interests in Queensland, to smaller independent cinemas. The Australian International Movie Convention attracts delegates from Australia, New Zealand, Asia, the United States and Europe.
History:The Australian International Movie Convention was established in 1945 and is held annually on the Gold Coast.
