Australian Institute of Professional Photography
A not-for-profit organisation creating standards in professional photography
The Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP) aims to create high standards and ethics within the photography industry. AIPP members must adhere to a set code of ethics when conducting professional work to ensure a standard of quality is consistently maintained amongst AIPP members. Members are required to fill entry criteria and adhere to the institutes Code of Ethics in order to be eligible for membership. Members must also continue their education through seminars, workshops and events to uphold AIPP standards. The AIPP represents members on industry issues such as copyright, taxation, legal and business matters, insurance, digital imaging and work practices. The institute also seeks to influence and advise government.
In addition to the representation of professional photographers, AIPP also commits to those intending to become a professional and individuals with a genuine interest in photography such as students, trade affiliates, amateur photographers and retirees.
History:Founded in 1963, The AIPP is a not-for- profit volunteer organisation run by professional photographers for other professional photographers, industry representatives and individuals interested in creating standards for the photography industry in Australia.
