One HD
Free-to-air high definition (HD) television channel aimed at men aged 25-54
One HD was Network Ten’s first sports-centred channel targeting men aged between 25 and 54. The channel provides news programs such as extended versions of Sports Tonight, Before the Game and the satirical program Sports Soup. Other content includes extensive coverage of domestic and international sport such as Motorsport, Netball, Cricket, Swimming, Golf, NFL, NBA Major League Baseball, NCAA College Basketball and Football to name a few. In 2010, the channel became the official broadcaster of the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
Despite being focused on sports coverage One HD is also known to feature a mixture of premium, factual programs and movies, along with action and adventure programming. Because of this One HD has secured the position of Australia’s best free-to-air sporting channel.
History:In March 2009 Network Ten decided to replace Ten HD with their first sports-centred channel, One HD. The channel introduced itself with its slogan ‘Sharing one passion. Sport.’ accompanied by HD previews of upcoming sporting events and personalities.
