4BH 882 AM & Digital
4BH 882 AM is an easy listening radio station
4BH is an easy listening radio station transmitting on the AM band; 882 frequency. Its target audience is the baby boomer market, playing a mix of easy listening hits from the last five decades. The station features a number of lifestyle programs, which discuss a diversity of issues. Traffic reports and news bulletins are integrated through 4BH ’s regular programming.
In its promotion of easy listening music, 4BH have coined the catchphrase ‘The Best Songs of All Time’, to describe the service the station offers its listeners. 4BH also broadcasts digitally through the DAB+ format.
History:On 2 January 1932, 4BH was launched by Mr John Beals Chandler,who, in the previous two years had launched 4BC. Since its launch, 4BH has experimented with numerous different show formats, including talkback, easy listening music and sporting commentaries. In 1995, 4BH was bought by Unitel and the Ipswich and West Moreton Broadcasting Corporation. 1997 saw 4BH sold to the Australian Radio Network, and later sold in 2001 to DMG Radio Australia.
In February 2003, 4BH was sold again to Southern Cross Broadcasting. November 2007, Southern Cross Broadcasting stations were purchased by the Fairfax Network, resulting in the current ownership.
