Butter Beats Record Store
Independent music retailer
Butter Beats Record Store is an independent record store with two stores in Brisbane and third on the Gold Coast. Owner Jason Dax Woodward is a well known graffiti artist and due to this influence, Butter Beats stocks hard to find records and CDs as well as urban literature, collectables and clothing.
The store specialises in musical styles from graff, hip hop, trance, reggae, rock and funk and supplies releases from labels like Obese Records, Trojan Records and Jazzman. Butter Beats stores provide a wide range of art products such as Iron Lak and Montana Cans as well DJ and technical gear from Technics.
The first Butter Beats store opened in 1998 and the second store was launched in 2005. Butter Beats has also released 15 music projects under the record label, ONE EIGHT THREE. The record label represents artists such as MC Tash, Hilltop Hoods, Lazy Grey, Jigsaw Geoff, Resin Dogs and Afro Dizzi Act.
