Audi Festival of German Films, The

A film festival celebrating and highlighting German films

Presented by the Goethe-Institut Australien, in cooperation with German Films, the Audi Festival of German Films celebrated its jubilee year in 2011.

Playing in Brisbane since 2004 at Palace Centro Cinema on James St, the festival presents an eclectic selection of the most contemporary German films, including retrospectives, Q&A sessions and special children and youth screenings. The screenings are accompanied by visiting guest stars from Germany, Q&A sessions after films, panel discussions with local experts and an online blog. Audiences are invited to participate in online ‘vote & win’ competition to vote for their personal favourite film and win one of many attractive prices.

The festival has been sponsored since 2006 by Audi Australia and is hosted by Palace Cinemas nationwide. It will be held in Brisbane in next year from 25 April to 1 May 2012.

History:

Established in 2002 in Sydney and Melbourne, the Audi Festival of German Films attracts more than 26,000 patrons every year and plays in Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth.
