Caxton Street Seafood and Wine Festival
Festival celebrating Brisbane’s quality seafood, wine and entertainment
Read the interview with Sam Kyriakidis, Publicist/Client Services
The Caxton Street Seafood and Wine Festival is an annual event held in the inner city suburb of Paddington. The festival focuses on the culinary arts, music and community spirit of the famous Caxton Street Entertainment precinct.
The festival showcases quality local fresh seafood cooked in some of Brisbane’s most renowned seafood restaurants and served in the abundant food stalls lining the street.
Music acts perform across four stages throughout the festival. Acts include local Brisbane and Australian bands covering a variety of genres including Jazz, Blues, Rock and numerous DJs performing throughout the day. Over the last 18 years the festival has showcased some of Australia’s feature contemporary musical acts and supported many local emerging artists.
The festival aims to bring together groups from all sections of the community including the youth, the arts, businesses, organisations and the general public to create a sense of community identity, facilitated by a celebration of life in the Sunshine State.
The Festival has been recognised as a Significant Event for Queensland by the Brisbane City Council and Tourism Queensland.
The Australian Performing Rights Association (APRA) has also recognized it as the largest independently produced Street Festival in Brisbane.
All profits are donated to worthy Queensland charities.
Traditionally held on the Sunday of the Labour Day long weekend, the festival is held in late April or early May.
