Winangali Pty Ltd
Full service research and communications agency targeting Indigenous markets
Winangali is a 100 per cent Indigenous owned and operated independent communications and social research consultancy specialising in reaching Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander markets.
Winangali provides support to organisations seeking to communicate with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people by producing material from a community perspective. Winangali always seeks to access local intermediaries who know the local community, its politics and local customs.
Winangali has the capacity to conduct projects that involve community consultation and research, campaign strategy and implementation, media planning, creative and production, media monitoring and follow-up research. Winangali can translate messages into a number of the major Indigenous languages, which can improve the likelihood of campaign success.
Past campaigns that Winangali has worked on include the Eat Well Be Active campaign for Indigenous audiences, the Indigenous Sport and Recreation Program and Indigenous communications for the More Help for Families campaign.
History:Winangali was created in 2005 by Noel Niddrie, Australia’s leading Indigenous research and communications consultant. He has 20 years experience in the communications industry, 17 years as an Indigenous communications expert and over 10 years as an Indigenous research specialist.
Noel Niddrie also helped in the development of Brisbane Indigenous radio station 4AAA Murri Country and established Australia’s only Indigenous-staffed and controlled news service. Noel Niddrie is a Kimilaroi man and ‘Winangali’ is a Kamilaroi word meaning ‘to hear, to listen, to know, to remember’.
