UQP is a publisher of fiction and non-fiction literature

Established in 1948, the University of Queensland Press (UQP) is well known for publishing works of high quality and cultural significance. In particular, the UQP specialises in publishing fiction (adult, young adult, and young readers), non-fiction (politics, history, biography and academic) and Indigenous Australian writing and poetry. The UQP is dedicated to ensuring the growth and preservation of Australian literary culture and actively seeks out, publishes and promotes Australia’s finest thinkers and writers. The UQP is also committed to developing Indigenous literature, and publishing high quality and culturally significant works.

The UQP publishes comprehensive notes for teachers for a number of books regularly taught in schools. Such titles include The Mayne Inheritance, The Girl Most Likely, and Johnno.
